‘Let’s do lunch for MS’

MS LogoAFTER the runaway success of a the fund-raising lunch held last year, Essendon resident Jacquie Brown has decided to hold another even bigger and better event this year.

Mrs Brown, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2005, has hosted an annual fund-raiser for MS Australia for the past four years.

In 2012 she was amazed by the generosity of the owners of Mamma Lina’s restaurant on Keilor Road, Niddrie, who offered to host her charity lunch for free.

What ensued was a huge charity luncheon that raised $11,500 for the MS Foundation and attracted more than 90 guests.

Mrs Brown said Mamma Lina’s owners, Sam and Jim Agostino and Jake Ludwig, jumped at the chance to host the lunch last year and have signed up to do it all over again.

“Last year it was just amazing. People are so generous so we just had to do it again,” Mrs

“We thought it would be a one-off at Mamma Lina’s, but with all the support and people offering to help we are doing it again.”

Called ‘Let’s do lunch for MS’, the event is on June 19 and includes a three-course meal, champagne and a monster raffle.

All proceeds go to MS. Staff at Mamma Lina’s will work for free.
