THE Moonee Valley Community Choir is in recruiting mode with an eye, and ear, on the coming Moonee Valley festival.

As an event-based choir, the volunteer group has a fluid membership that ebbs and flows during the year depending on the events scheduled.

Choir leader Megan Stapleton (pictured centre, with other choir members) says there will be three rehearsals before the February 24 festival and anyone who attends at least two qualifies for the festival performance.

She says the choir welcomes all ages and abilities, though members under 10 need to be accompanied by an older sibling or parent.

The community choir will sing two songs on the main stage at the festival. Rehearsals will be held at the Bradshaw Street Hall in Essendon. More details: 0402 597 724.
