Moonee Valley groups share the joy of toys

A PARTNERSHIP has developed between two relatively new but growing community groups in Moonee Valley.

The recently established Men’s Shed has lent its services to the newly established Moonee Valley Toy Library.

The ‘Sheddies’ are a small but hardworking group of retired men who put their handyman skills to use for community projects while rediscovering the camaraderie of working together.

The men recently took it on themselves to build some old-fashioned wooden toys for the library and dropped them at its Essendon headquarters last week.

Toy Library president Debbie Williams said she was thrilled with the partnership.

“It’s great that we have received brand new handcrafted toys.

“When the men brought them down and showed the children how to use them it was just great. ”
