Essendon Traffic School turns 50!

The Essendon Traffic School has been a popular community facility since it was established fifty years ago by the Rotary Club of Essendon to provide road education programs for community members.  In 1976, the voluntary organisation Community Action for Road Education (CARE) took over the management of the facility with the support of Essendon City Council and the Rotary Club of Essendon, and commenced road education programs in that June.  CARE successfully ran the program for 26 years until the City of Moonee Valley took over the centre’s management in May 2002.

For the past 50 years the Essendon Traffic School has provided a quality facility to residents and visitors offering children the chance to learn essential road safety skills in a fun and safe environment.  In addition, the Essendon Traffic School has played host to birthday parties, fundraising activities, events and free play for thousands of eager children.
