The Rotary Club of Essendon are conducting a tour to
The White Wedding Dress:
from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
World Premiere exhibition encompasses historical bridal dresses, veils, corsetry, millinery, shoes and other accessories by world-famous couturiers and designers including Charles Frederick Worth, Norman Hartnell, Charles James, Zandra Rhodes, Vivienne Westwood, Vera Wang, Christian Lacroix, Lanvin, Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones
We will be able to see this fantastic exhibition before it is even shown in London.
The Bendigo Art Gallery will also curate a section highlighting wedding costumes in Australia from Colonial Settlement to Contemporary fashions.
The Victoria and Albert Museum curator Edwina Ehrman said the collection was a revealing insight into the lives of wearers over the past 200 years.
Also included are wedding gowns worn by celebrities Gwen Stefani and Dita Von Teese.
Featured dress – Wedding dress by Vera Wang for her spring 2007 bridal collection. Tissue organza and satin faced organza. Lent by the American Friends of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
