The Essendon Historical Society invites you to their May Meeting. The Guest Speaker will be Norm Hutchinson author of The Suffragette and the Squatter.
One of the three brothers that settled Gregory Downs in 1876 was Phillip Sidney Watson. In 1898 he married Annie Lister and they immediately left for the Klondike gold rush in British Columbia (Via Alaska). Annie Lister was a suffragist whose passion was the emancipation of women and their right to vote. Norm has written a biography of their life, and adventures in Canada.
