Moonee Valley will be spicing up its weekend next month when it hosts the Mediterranean Fiesta.

The free festival heats up Sunday 28 March from 11am to 4pm at the Centreway Shopping Centre in Keilor East. The event will celebrate the significant and vibrant contribution of many local residents who migrated from Mediterranean countries.

The Mayor of Moonee Valley, Cr Shirley Cornish, said she encouraged all residents to come along to the Fiesta and to bring their family and friends.

“Moonee Valley has a long history of migration to the area including significant post-war arrivals from Europe,” she said. “Many of the European arrivals settled in the northern area of Moonee Valley and continued to make this area their home.”
