Moonee Valley City Council is calling all residents to get involved in Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, 7 March by registering a clean-up site now.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Clean Up Australia Day with a mammoth effort needed to better 2009 when Australians picked up more than two million pieces of rubbish.
Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr Shirley Cornish encouraged all residents to take part by registering or volunteering at a site on Clean Up Australia Day.
“Clean Up Australia Day is a great day out which everyone can get involved in. It is an opportunity for the community to get together and show they care about the local environment by helping to make their neighbourhood litter free,” she said. MORE….
