FREE Workshop for Women:-
Unsure of what to do in a breakdown situation? Not sure how to change a flat tyre? Or do you find “mechanic talk” to be a bit confusing? It’s free, takes just one night and puts women of all ages happily in the driver’s seat of car maintenance. The Women On Wheels National program is designed to make ladies more mechanically literate and to offer practical guidelines for motoring safety and vehicle maintenance. Great news for local ladies; The Women On Wheels workshop is coming to Essendon! Hosted by Essendon Hyundai, this fun hands-on evening will have our ladies checking oil levels, changing tyres, jump starting vehicles and checking and correcting tyre pressures. Jacqui Morrison of Women on Wheels (Aust) Pty Ltd, says “In 90% of cases, women are the major influences in the purchase of the family car and due to a lack of confidence or perhaps due to stereotypical attitudes; some women have never been exposed to the requirements of basic automotive maintenance. We hope to help change this.”
Run and managed by the Women On Wheels (Aust) organisation, this community service aims to demystify the techniques of automotive maintenance for women that, to date, have been the domain of the men. “Over 11,000 women all over Australia have completed the Women On Wheels workshop since its inception over 12 years ago” says Jacqui Morrison of Women On Wheels (Aust) Pty Ltd. “All ladies, from teenagers about to get their license to mums with extra precious cargo to elderly drivers, will benefit from this valuable information evening. “For ladies who are interested in this night, I’ve got to say, it’s a fun girls night out. There’s always a friendly atmosphere and the ladies always have a great time. What’s more, supper and a FREE showbag are provided!” Numbers are limited to 50 so make sure you don’t miss out.
