Now in its 27th year, the Victorian Seniors Festival includes more than 1,000 free and low cost events across metropolitan Melbourne and regional and rural Victoria. Council invites all Moonee Valley seniors to celebrate the Victorian Seniors Festival with two days of fun, food and learning at the Moonee Valley Seniors Health and Wellbeing Expo.
Mayor of Moonee Valley, Cr Paul Giuliano, said the expo would offer fun activities and demonstrations, guest speakers and community information stalls, as well as a free morning tea and lunch. “As our population continues to age it is important for Council to be involved in projects that keep our senor residents active and connected,” he said.
The expo includes:
* Keynote speakers talking about the importance of physical activity and good nutrition, and providing tips and information on how to achieve optimal health.
* Information on local leisure centres, health specialists, retailers, Council and community services, Council programs such as LifePlus and Access All Abilities and how to get involved in activities like volunteering.
* Demonstrations on how to stay active and activities to get involved in.
The expo is a free event but places are limited so call to book your place. Tickets are now available. For a ticket or to arrange transport, call Council on 9243 8888.
