The 10th Moonee Valley Relay For Life went off with great success last Friday/Saturday. Records were broken – Record number of teams and participant and an event preliminary fund raising total of $200,000!!!!! Once more luck was the walkers – they were spared the promised scorching heat which was to be followed by some rain.
A great job was done once again by all teams in organising family, friends and associates to put together the record number of people for our 10th MVRelay. The committee’s job was made easier by the people who attended and did so truly in the spirit of Relay For Life. The committee sincerely would like to thank once again the support given to the event over its history by City of Moonee Valley and the Essendon Football Club and this year a special thanks to the Bendigo Bank for their very generous contribution. We would also like to say a special thank you to all of our other event sponsors and contributors.
Of course we would like to once again congratulate all award winners which this year included:
Laurie Elliott (Spirit of Relay)
Brumby’s Babes (Highest Team Fund Raising Total)
Teachers and Tag-a-Longs (Highest Team Lap Total)
Desperate Housewives (Best Theme)
