Bomber fans are impressed with 20-year-old Patrick Ryder suggesting he will be the back-bone of Essendon’s defence for years to come. Playing every game this season, the 197cm defender spent most of the year taking on the opposition’s best forward. The fans loved it giving him a 2008 report card scoring 7.33/10 (up from 6.94/10 in 2007).
