Tired of just singing in the shower? Moonee Valley Idol may be the solution.
As part of Moonee Valley City Councils Arts Week, Moonee Valley Idol will give young people across the city the opportunity to showcase their musical talents. Aimed at those aged 13-18, this inaugural event will kick off with auditions during May 2008 at Councils own premiere cultural venue, the Clocktower Centre. Moonee Valley Idol provides young people with the opportunity to work with teachers and peers on a musical item and gain experience and confidence performing in front of an audience and judges.
The event will include three categories:
– Junior individual singing (13-15yo)
– Senior individual singing (16-18yo)
– Musical-based performance (13-18yo)
Finals will be held on Friday 13 June. Representatives from Moonee Valley City Council, Community News and the music industry will judge the performances.
Cash prizes and a trophy will be awarded to the winner and each participant will receive a certificate.
