Pet microchipping day

An implanted microchip is the primary way to identify a lost or stolen pet. Each chip is as unique as a fingerprint and allows a pet to be identified with a special identification code when scanned into the registry. The procedure is painless. The tiny chip remains active for life, ensuring your pet can be identified anytime and anywhere in Australia.

Microchipped animals are eligible for discount registration fees.

Legislation now requires all cats or dogs which are being registered with a Council for the first time to be microchipped prior to registration.
