Essendon and North Melbourne will honour recently retired club greats James Hird and Glenn Archer through a special medal that will be presented annually following the teams’ first clash of the season. The clubs have commissioned a medal which will be awarded to the player who epitomizes the values upheld by the legends.

Bombers see positives in Subiaco clash
The spacious surrounds of Subiaco Oval present an opportunity for the team when they clash with West Coast on Friday according to coach Matthew Knights. “We have a very strong support base in Western Australia and the club is looking forward to playing on a spacious ground because we will get some valuable match fitness and practice into our players,” he said.
