Essendon Football Club News – See the world’s fastest man in Melbourne

See the world’s fastest man in Melbourne
Asafa Powell, world 100m record holder and Jeremy Wariner, 2007 world 400m champion know where they want to be on February 21. So should you. The duo will take to the track with Australia’s best on a night loaded with scintillating track and field action and Essendon members can be there thanks a special offer.

Players putting themselves to the test
Essendon coach Matthew Knights says his playing group is pushing itself to the limit in preparation for the NAB Cup opener against Brisbane on the Gold Coast on February 16. At the moment I can only compliment the group on the way they are attacking training. They are certainly performing at a good pace which allows them to really test themselves – they have given themselves the best possible opportunity to improve, Knights said.

Going beyond the boundary

However when reality set in that one of Liz Monfries’ three sons would soon be moving interstate, she quickly found other ways to keep up with the daily goings on both on and off the field.
