Essendon Football Club News – Bombers finalise playing list

Bombers finalise playing list
Essendon today put the finishing touches on its exciting young list, adding John Williams and Tom Bellchambers to the senior list at this morning’s AFL pre-season draft. List Manager, Adrian Dodoro, was excited about the new additions and believes they will add to the depth of the Bombers’ list.

Daniher to undergo surgery
Darcy Daniher will undergo shoulder surgery this week after partially dislocating it during a tackling drill at training last week. Club doctor, Bruce Reid, said MRI results revealed Daniher would require surgery to repair a slight cartilage tear and stabilise the weakened front of his shoulder.

Essendon return to Queensland
Essendon Football Club will head to Queensland for the first time since early 2006 after the AFL today announced changes to its NAB pre-season fixture and community camp schedule. Essendon will now conduct its community camp on the Gold Coast and in northern NSW between February 4 and 7. The camp was originally scheduled to be held in Bairnsdale.

Williams eager to head south
Nothing could have prepared John Williams for the good news he received yesterday informing him that Essendon had selected him in the pre-season draft. Having undergone a shoulder reconstruction only two weeks earlier, being drafted to an AFL club seemed highly unlikely for Williams. However, a phone call from List Manager, Adrian Dodoro, confirmed that Williams had secured a place on Essendon’s senior list.

Join the Bombers as they hit the fairways
The Bomber boys will be trading in their footballs for golf balls when they hit the greens at the Heritage Golf and Country Club on Tuesday 19th February for the Bill Hutchison Foundation Charity Golf Day. Brought to you by the Dick Reynolds Club and Western Pacific Toorak, the day presents a perfect opportunity for Essendon fans to enjoy breakfast, a round of golf, and lunch with the players and staff from the Essendon Football Club.
