Moonee Valley City Council has elected Ramsay Ward Cr Paul Giuliano as its 11th Mayor. Deakin Ward Cr Jim Cusack was elected as his deputy.
Cr Giuliano paid tribute to his predecessors Cr Jan Chantry and Cr Ben Opie for their roles in repositioning Moonee Valley as on of the highest performing Councils in Victoria and Australia.
As a resident of Moonee Valley all my life, I am incredibly proud to have been elected by my fellow councillors to serve as your Mayor for the next 12 months. I am indeed fortunate to have served my Council term with such a passionate and talented group of people who have demonstrated their commitment to this great City of ours at every turn, Cr Giuliano said.
The Mayor said he was also looking forward to developing the ideas contained in the Councils Integrated Transport Plan to ease the traffic burden on our local streets.
He vowed to continue his commitment to the environment, water, delivering a functional planning scheme and better traffic management.
