Carols at Queens Park next Sunday

Christmas carols
The City of Moonee Valley is inviting the community to celebrate the festive season with the annual Carols by Candlelight at Queens Park on Sunday 9 December.

Mayor, Cr Giuliano said that Carols by Candlelight was one of the City’s best-loved and popular events, attracting record crowds every year. “This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together in the beautiful gardens of Queens Park and fill the night sky with the sound and colours of Christmas,” Cr Giuliano said.

This year’s carols will feature an intercultural and intergenerational celebration, with performances from the Sudanese Catholic Choir, Mediterranean folk guitarist Kavisha Mazzella, along with Moonee Valley Brass, Essendon Choral Society, and students from St Martin de Porres, Avondale Primary, Ascot Vale and Flemington Primary Schools.
Carols by Candlelight is free and open to all members of the public. Participants are reminded to bring a blanket, and children are welcome to dress up in festive clothing. Candles, refreshments and songbooks will be available for purchase from 6pm, with carols to begin at 7pm.
