Special appointment for Essendon’s Linda Dessau
AFL Commission Chairman Mike Fitzpatrick today announced the appointments of Justice Linda Dessau and Christopher Lynch to the AFL Commission. Justice Dessau is President of the Essendon Women’s Network. They will join the AFL Commission at the AFL’s AGM in March 2008, and were announced to the meeting of the 16 club presidents in Melbourne today, after an extensive search process through much of this year.

Myers thrilled to be a Bomber
David Myers’ phone went into overdrive this morning as close friends and family rang to congratulate the 18-year-old on the announcement that he was officially a Bomber. Myers was ecstatic when realising he had been selected with Essendon’s first pick when watching the 2007 AFL draft over the internet.

Essendon secures Myers with pick six
Essendon today ended months of speculation selecting tall, mobile defender, David Myers, with pick six of the 2007 National AFL Draft. Recruited from Perth, Myers is a potent left-footer and a graduate of the 2005/06 AIS-AFL Academy. He also won the Barassi Medal as the best and fairest player during the Australian U17 squad’s 2006 series against Ireland.
