Heath Hocking fastest in 3.2 km time trial
There was plenty of huffing and puffing but in the end Heath Hocking emerged with the fastest time at Essendon’s 3.2km time trial held at Princess Park today. Hocking ran the course in 10.48 mins and was followed home by Bachar Houli and Brent Stanton.
Camporeale looking forward to pre-season
Pre-season for Scott Camporeale usually involves a gruelling 3.2km time trial with team-mates around the tan. This year’s run, however, will be a lot easier for Campo who will most likely be holding a stopwatch rather than hitting the track in the Essendon uniform.
Ray Gunston appointed to Essendon board
Essendon today announced that Ray Gunston – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Tattersalls – has been appointed as a club Director. The club’s constitution makes provision for the board to appoint a Director and Mr Gunston will seek to become an ‘Elected Director’ at the 2007 Annual General Meeting.
Packed pre-season starts for players next week
Essendon’s 2007/08 pre-season training – which starts on Wednesday 7th November – will feature a greater emphasis on player decision making, skills and recovery from training. High Performance Manager, John Quinn, says the program will see the players begin the 2008 season well prepared and ready to go.
Quinn excited about players’ condition
Essendon’s pre-season training may only be in its first day but already High Performance Manager, John Quinn, is excited about the Bombers’ 2008 season. The entire senior playing group underwent medical screening and performance testing this morning and Quinn couldn’t be happier about the shape in which the players returned.
