Scholarship holders impress during testing
Essendon’s two AFL NSW/ACT scholarship program selections are in Melbourne undergoing fitness, speed and conditioning assessment. Club senior recruiting coordinator, Merv Keane, said 16-year-old, Ben Simon, is one year into his two year scholarship while 15-year-old, James Webster, starts his three year scholarship in 2008.
Dyson re-signs for two years during trade week

Richard Cole delisted
The Essendon Football Club today announced that Richard Cole has been delisted. Cole was traded by Collingwood to the Bombers in 2005 for pick number 23.
Essendon gets good value from Daniher pick
Essendon coach, Matthew Knights says the Bombers were willing to use their second round pick to secure 18-year old Darcy Daniher because they rate him so highly. “If another team had made a first round bid for him we would have taken him with pick 23 in the draft, we had made that decision because we are very confident about his abilities and what he can bring to the club,” Knights said.
