The annual Saltwater Challenge, conducted by the Essendon Rowing Club is on again on the 8th September on the Maribyrnong River.
The Saltwater Challenge is a series of time trial races on the Maribyrnong River. The course is 4.5 Km long; commencing upstream at the Tea Gardens reserve near Canning Street bridge and finishing close to the Essendon Rowing Club located corner Holmes Road and The Boulevard Moonee Ponds. The event has attracted elite interstate crews, former Olympians, school boys and girl’s crews, and a rich mix of masters and open class rowers.

Screening of photos and film of the event in the club function room; and
Traditional Essendon Rowing Club hospitality, food and drinks.
