Sam Merrifield Library to close for fresh new look

(City of Moonee Valley)
The Sam Merrifield Library in Moonee Ponds will be closed from Sunday, September 23 for recarpeting and painting and will reopen on Tuesday, October 2.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr Ben Opie said the new look would add to the enjoyment of this wonderful facility. “Our libraries are an essential, well-loved part of the community. We have users who come to the library daily to read, connect with others and share their love of reading with like minds, and these improvements will help enhance that experience for them,” Cr Opie said.

He said residents could access library services at Ascot Vale, Flemington, Niddrie and Milleara during the Sam Merrifield closure.

Loan periods for items borrowed from the Sam Merrifield Library, located at 762 Mt Alexander Road, will be extended. Patrons who receive notification that reserved items are available during the closure can contact the library to arrange collection at another branch if they prefer not to wait until the library reopens. Loans can also be renewed either by phoning the libraries or via the library web page.
