Fletcher and Lucas considered for All Australian team
Essendon stars Scott Lucas and Dustin Fletcher have been recognised for their excellent seasons by being named in the 40 man squad from which the 2007 Coca Cola All Australian Team will be selected. The AFL has said the All Australian selection panel met yesterday for their final meeting of the 2007 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, to confirm the squad.
Demetriou labels EGM as ‘nonsense’
AFL chief Executive, Andrew Demetriou, has thrown his support behind Essendon Managing Director, Peter Jackson, and Chairman, Ray Horsburgh, after the Save Essendon group yesterday delivered a resolution calling for an Extraordinary General Meeting to remove the two men. Demetriou described the situation as “nonsense” and Jackson as one of the best administrators in AFL football.
