Demetriou labels EGM as ‘nonsense’
AFL chief Executive, Andrew Demetriou, has thrown his support behind Essendon Managing Director, Peter Jackson, and Chairman, Ray Horsburgh, after the Save Essendon group yesterday delivered a resolution calling for an Extraordinary General Meeting to remove the two men. Demetriou described the situation as “nonsense” and Jackson as one of the best administrators in AFL football.
Hird pleads for return of stolen 250th guernsey
Essendon champion James Hird has pleaded for the return of his 250th game guernsey after it was stolen from a framing shop in Kew during a spate of robberies in the area last week. Hird signed the back of the unwashed and grass-stained jumper with a message to club helper and good friend, Colin Hooper, who was given the historic guernsey.
