Essendon Football Club News – Bendigo finals hopes still alive

Bendigo finals hopes still alive
Finals hopes still linger within the Bendigo Bombers grasp despite being defeated by Sandringham on the weekend by 33 points. Although the Bombers put up a courageous fight through Courtney Johns, Chris Heffernan and Sam Lonergan, Bendigo struggled to match it with Sandringham who proved the better side on the day.

Essendon improve finals hopes
Following a emotional week at the club, an inspired Bomber unit sang the team song with extra gusto after defeating a competitive Adelaide line-up by 12 points at the Dome. The win significantly boosts the Bombers hopes of giving Kevin Sheedy a fairytale finish to his coaching career at Essendon by experiencing finals football. However, the Bombers still need to secure three more wins in the next five weeks of football to put a finals appearance beyond doubt.

Daily AFL news video updates start now
Essendon fans can get more AFL news, and faster than ever, right here on the club’s official website following an agreement with Sportal to provide daily television style news stories. Essendon Managing Director, Peter Jackson, said the Sportal news service would allow the club to provide Bomber fans with even more footy information when they visit www.essendonfc.com.au.

No winner in final round of 3 from 3
Joshua Munting of Glebe Tasmania and Amalie Engi of Werribee were not able to secure the $5,000 prize up for grabs in the final round of the ‘3 from 3’ competition held before Sunday’s Essendon v Adelaide clash at the Dome. Thanks to 3 mobile, the major sponsor of Essendon, both had the chance to experience the thrill of kicking a goal from 50m in front of a Bomber home crowd and win big.

Lovett-Murray and Michael cleared by Match Review Panel
The AFL today advised that the Match Review Panel has assessed incidents from the weekend’s round of matches. Essendon’s Nathan Lovett-Murray and Mal Michael both had incidents reviewed but have been cleared.
