Sheedy: Hird is playing beyond expectations
Much to the dismay of the Essendon faithful, Kevin Sheedy today revealed that he would not be encouraging James Hird to play on next year, despite regarding his recent performances as some of the best the Bomber champion has exhibited in years. I’ve already done it once and I just don’t know whether I should go back and do that again, Sheedy said.
Ramanauskas runs riot for Bendigo
Led by Essendon Premiership player Adam Ramanauskas, the Bendigo Bombers triumphed over the Box Hill Hawks yesterday to record a massive 62-point victory at Queen Elizabeth Oval. After a slow start to the match in which the Bombers battled with accuracy in front of goal, Bendigo launched a thrilling second half of football, dominating play and making it difficult for their Box Hill counterparts to add to their side of the scoreboard. As the Hawks struggled to match an inspired Bomber unit, Bendigo fired through Kepler Bradley and Kyle Reimers who each contributed four goals for the match and played an major part in the 10-goal victory.
