On Thursday May 31 (8pm) the Strathmore Theatrical Arts Group (STAG) continues its 52nd annual season with Noel Cowards amusing 1925 comedy, Fallen Angels, directed for STAG by Dennis Hine-St. Clair. It runs to June 9.
The fallen angels are youngish married women, bored with their husbands and eager to reclaim their lost youth in the shape of a young Frenchman. He had very little knowledge of English, but certainly had skills in the wooing department, and had had an affair with each of them before marriage. He sends a postcard to both women, saying he is coming to London and they work themselves up into a drunken state of excitement in anticipation of their long-lost lover’s return.
The director has previously directed for STAG, as well as for Essendon Theatre Company and Cat House Theatre in Melbournes North West, and has appeared in various plays and musicals around Melbourne and also in London 19721977.
