Bombers fail to excite
Essendon supporters will be lamenting the Jekyll and Hyde nature of their side after it was soundly beaten by Hawthorn at the MCG this afternoon. The intensity and excitement that was on show in the first two rounds of the season went missing as the Bombers succumbed too easily to an exuberant Hawthorn side that ran out winners by 35 points.

Call to Arms – Tackling Cancer
Following last year’s success of the inaugural Clash for Cancer’ AFL football match hosted by Essendon Football Club and The Cancer Council Victoria, footballers of all levels, around the state now have the chance to don yellow armbands and support the one in three people affected by cancer. Cancer Council Fund-raising Director Deb Stringer said the new campaign, Call to Arms, is an opportunity for local football communities to unite as one, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June, and significantly impact the cancer fight.
