Essendon Football Club News – Welsh out for three

Welsh out for three
After making it through a demanding pre-season almost unscathed, Essendon has been hampered by its first major injury for the season. In a major blow for the Bombers, Andrew Welsh has become Essendon’s first casualty after straining his hamstring in last weekend’s clash with Fremantle.

Important VFL news
The Bendigo Bomber’s Round 2 match against the Northern Bullants this Sunday 15th April has been moved to MC Labour Park due to the poor condition of Preston City Oval. After a ground inspection yesterday by representatives from the Essendon Football Club, the Carlton Football Club and the Victorian Football League, the ground’s conditions were deemed unsatisfactory.

Two out of two for the Bombers
For the first time since 2004, Essendon has won consecutive games after a stellar victory over Fremantle by ten points at the Dome today. The achievement of back-to-back wins is even more impressive when you consider both Adelaide and Fremantle finished in the top four last year.
