(http://www.clocktowercentre.com.au/)When the Japanese invaded Singapore in 1942, 65 Australian nurses were trapped. They were the first Australian women to serve in battle
and the first to die. THE SHOE HORN SONATA is a powerful play about these women, their triumph, their friendship and their survival.
In 1995, the women reunite for the filming of a TV documentary. Sheila and Bridie, who havent seen each other in 50 years, come together only to discover there are still wounds to heal. Woven into their half century of separation are a shoe horn and a terrible secret; incredible loyalty and enduring love. This forms the basis of their otherwise unlikely friendship. THE SHOE HORN SONATA is a wonderfully funny and deeply touching play.
The play will be held at The Clocktower Centre on Tuesday 3 April and Wednesday 4 April – at 8pm
