Jetta joins Davey as Bombers opt for speed
Boom Western Australian youngster Leroy Jetta has joined Alwyn Davey in the Essendon line up to play Adelaide at AAMI Stadium this Sunday. Like Davey, Jetta is blessed with explosive speed and the Essendon match committee hope he can use it to good effect both defensively and on the scoreboard.

Essendon Coach Kevin Sheedy believes that the Bombers are in their best physical condition in years, warning Adelaide to prepare themselves for a thriller in the season opener. “I think it is going to be a bumper season. We have been training really hard and the players realise it is a top game to start off the season and get one of the away games out of the road straight away,” Sheedy said.

Bombers satisfy the need for speed, Davey to debut
It is midfield pace the Essendon faithful wanted and it is midfield pace they will get when the Bombers line up against Adelaide this Sunday. Alwyn Davey will make his AFL debut this weekend – the exciting 22-year-old with blistering leg speed has been rewarded for his excellent pre-season form.
