Essendon’s 2007 fightback campaign received an extra kick this week when boxing legend Barry Michael and Daniel “Porky” Lovett dropped into training. In town to promote Lovett’s super middle-weight bout this Saturday night, they made the most of the opportunity to spar with some of the Bomber’s hardest hitters, Nathan Lovett-Murray and Mark Johnson.

Relay For Life raises over $200,000
Essendon Football Club’s commitment to the community and the fight against cancer reached new heights last weekend when the club hosted The Cancer Council Victoria’s Moonee Valley Relay For Life. More than 1000 people took part in the event at Windy Hill, making it one of the largest of its kind in Victoria.

Bombers injury list in good shape
Essendon will head in the NAB Cup at almost full strength with its injury list looking in good shape as the season approaches. “Four players out of 44 injured is pretty good for us at this time of year and exactly where want to be and having almost a full list to choose from going into the first round of NAB Cup,” fitness coach Joel Hocking explained.
