First home buyers have not been deterred from wanting to buy their own home despite escalating rental prices and difficulties in saving a deposit, according to research commissioned by Wizard Home Loans.

The research revealed that more than half of Australian renters (65 per cent) hope to purchase a property within the next two years, even though many are unsure how they can achieve this.

When questioned about the barriers preventing them from entering the market, respondents said the biggest hurdles were an inability to save a deposit while paying rent (40 per cent) and high property prices (38 per cent). More….
