Anything less than a top eight finish will be an unsatisfactory ending to the illustrious career of James Hird, the champion himself has indicated today. Joining his teammates for the first skills session of the year, Hird was adamant the motivation for another season is to help turn around the club’s fortune and become a finals force once again.

Bombers impress in testing
The Bombers have returned from their Christmas break today ready to embark on the remainder of the pre-season in terrific shape. In testing conducted this morning, the players registered some of the best results John Quinn has seen in his time at the club.

Lovett-Murray takes the next step
2006 was another year of terrific development for Nathan Lovett-Murray according the Essendon fans. Registering a score of 6.98 for the season, they believe he provides the team with great attacking run off the halfback line. With another pre-season under his belt working particually on his disposal and decision-making, they believe he can continue his improvement next season.

Houli dooley – Bachar sets the standard
He may have arrived at Windy Hill only six weeks ago, but already Bachar Houli has made an impact on all who meet him. Unlike your typical 18-year-old, Houli displays maturity beyond his years and a dedication that has already seen him achieve results synonymous with those who have been in the AFL system for years.
