(City of Moonee Valley)
Moonee Valley City Council invites our Citys littlest citizens to come and join in the fun and activities at Moonee Valleys Childrens Day on Sunday 22 October, 12pm to 4pm at Queens Park, Moonee Ponds.
Moonee Valley Mayor Cr Jan Chantry said Childrens Day provided a great opportunity for families and citizens to come along and support a fantastic community celebration with a fun, free and interactive day of activities and entertainment.
This years Childrens Day will have a huge range of activities for all the family, including an animal farm, a rock climbing wall, face-painting, rides, arts and crafts, music, dance and song, Cr Chantry said.
The theme for the day is Water for Life which aims to celebrate and recognise how important water is for our health, ecology and everyday living, she said.
After a break in 2005 to accommodate the Commonwealth Games community activities, the popular Childrens Day event is returning in 2006 and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Childrens Day is co-ordinated by Council’s Recreation Services with the valued support of a number of community representatives. For more information about the day please contact Recreation Services on 9243 8888 or visit www.mvcc.vic.gov.au.
A free bus service will be available from various locations around Moonee Valley to and from the Children’s Day event.
