When Charles Condomine the novelist invited Madam Arcati to dinner in order to obtain information on psychic phenomena, he had no idea that the spirit of his late, first wife, would materialise. The repercussions are disastrous for Charles and his second wife, but hilarious for the audience of this most improbable farce.
