Moonee Valley librarians will rally outside the civic centre this week to protest against what they claim is a council push to strip away award conditions for new staff.

Australian Services Union organiser Michelle Jackson said staff wanted the council to offer new employees a 35-hour week, in line with current staff.

But she said the council wanted to put new staff on a 38-hour week, without penalty rates for evening and weekend work….more
