Model Railway Group needs new home.

ESSENDON’S Model Railway Group is looking for a home after being at its existing premises for the past 10 years . The church hall in Ascot Vale, where it is currently located will be sold at the end of the year and club president Neil Tavrou-Cowie says the group will need new premises.

The present clubroom is 82 square metres, and contains a semi-permanent model railway layout. “We therefore desire a room of roughly equivalent size (but would consider other sizes), that the group could occupy 24/7. Being a not-for-profit group of currently about 20 members and with limited fund raising opportunities the group cannot afford commercial rates for commercial properties. If anyone knows of (or is in control of) an available room in Essendon or surrounding areas, whether it be an old church hall, or part of a public building, or on council property, that may be a possibility, please email the writer at gmanson@rabbit.com.au if possible giving contact details.”

The Essendon Model Railway Group is a hobby group in the Essendon area. Visitors and new members are welcome Wednesday evenings 7.30pm to 10.00pm at St Paul’s Anglican Church Hall, Roxburgh St Ascot Vale.
