More than one in four women say real estate agents take more notice of their partner when they buy a home together, according to a nationwide survey conducted by Newspoll, with older women saying they face the most discrimination.
The survey of women buyers, commissioned by First National Real Estate, also found that 18 per cent of women bought property by themselves in Australia, reflecting a growing trend in developed countries where women are becoming financially independent.
